When it comes to tallow—especially for the face—the details matter.
From how the animal is raised to how the fat is rendered, refined, and ultimately formulated, each step shapes how tallow feels, absorbs, and supports the skin. Small differences in approach can lead to noticeable differences in performance, making the process behind the product just as important as the ingredient itself.
WHY GRASS-FINISHED MATTERS
Tallow from grass-finished cattle offers a more balanced fatty acid profile, with slightly higher levels of linoleic acid alongside naturally occurring fat-soluble nutrients that support skin compatibility. This allows it to melt evenly, absorb more intuitively, and support the skin barrier without feeling heavy or congestive.
The result is breathable, stable, and aligned with the skin’s natural structure.
OUR PROCESS
Rather than relying on a single method, we take a more considered approach.
Our tallow is slowly dry-rendered and triple filtered to preserve its structural integrity. Only then do we introduce a gentle purification step using a traditional lemon-water method, allowing us to refine clarity and skin feel without disrupting the structure of the fat itself.
Following purification, we incorporate a final low-heat evaporation phase to ensure no residual water remains. This step is essential for stability, longevity, and maintaining a clean, balanced finish.

Our unique approach allows us to create a tallow that feels light, smooth, and neutral on the skin without relying on conventional deodorization methods or isolated additives (like bleaches, synthetic antioxidants, or lab-derived citric acid) and never settling for excess impurities or unwanted scent. Instead, we take a slower, more thoughtful approach that integrates traditional wisdom and modern refinement.
OUR FORMULATION
We formulate and produce in-house in small batches, allowing for complete transparency and peak freshness. To protect the integrity of our tallow and oils, we incorporate mixed tocopherols, a naturally derived form of vitamin E that helps to slow oxidation and preserve the formula as it was meant to be experienced. In a market where much of the process is outsourced and unseen, we believe this level of proximity and control matters.
